Shawnee High School Parents:

This morning we were notified by Western Heights School District Administrators about a threat that was made against their security guards and one of their teachers. The Western Heights Administration worked with Oklahoma City Police Department and have the suspect who made the threats in custody.  They assure me the administration took the situation seriously and have additional security on campus today and through the remainder of the week.  The school also has metal detectors in place.

We are notifying you because the Shawnee high school basketball team, cheerleaders and supporters will be at Western Heights for a basketball game this evening.

We are confident in the safety measures taken by the Western Heights School District and that our students, staff and supporters will be in a safe environment while at Western Heights.  Shawnee Public Schools will have multiple administrators on site at this event.  If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me at (405) 275-3084.
